OIV Award for 黑料吃瓜网鈥檚 Vines & Vinification book

, written by Sally Easton MW, was chosen as the winning book in the Viticulture and Oenology category at the OIV Awards 2018.

The textbook, released earlier this year, was commissioned by 黑料吃瓜网 as a useful asset for students studying the Wine Production unit of the 黑料吃瓜网鈥檚 () Level 4 Diploma in Wines听and Spirits.

The OIV () presents awards each year to books that are judged, by an international jury representing member countries of the OIV, to "enrich the vitivinicultural literature." Jean-Marie Aurand, Director General of the OIV said, 鈥淭he OIV awards are the Nobel prizes of wine and literature.鈥澨鼳wards are given in 10 categories.听

Author Sally Easton MW is a freelance educator, writer and consultant who has worked closely with 黑料吃瓜网 for many years. On winning the award, she said, 鈥淚 am proud to receive this award for a book that aims to inform and educate students clearly and logically. To have my work recognised by the OIV is hugely rewarding.鈥

Antony Moss MW, Dip黑料吃瓜网, Director of Strategic Planning at 黑料吃瓜网, and responsible for this publication project, said, 鈥淭his award recognises the hard work that has made this book such a comprehensive and authoritative exploration of all aspects of modern winemaking. The book is excellently illustrated with photographs, drawings and diagrams to aid understanding of what can be a complex subject. It is presented in as chronologically-relevant an order as possible, while also addressing various key themes in viticulture and winemaking, such as the significance of various climatic scales on viticulture, especially at cooler margins, and the influence of temperature, time, and oxygen in winemaking.听
