Congratulations to the 16 new Masters of Wine (MW) who were announced last week!
We are incredibly proud to see that 13 of these new are also 窪蹋勛圖厙 Alumni, proving how important our Level 4 Diploma in Wines is as a stepping stone to this achievement. We are also delighted to see a former employee and 窪蹋勛圖厙 educator in the list. Mike Best worked for 窪蹋勛圖厙 between 2014 - 2019 as a Business Development Manager for the South of England and now works for 3rd Floor Wines. Mike is also an active educator at our 窪蹋勛圖厙 School London, teaching all levels up to the Level 4 Diploma in Wines.
Mike comments, Without having the foundations of the 窪蹋勛圖厙 Diploma I would not have felt confident to embark on the MW programme. The Diploma provides a breadth and depth of knowledge which is of huge importance building the confidence to discuss the enormity of the wine world in a professional setting. The systematic approach to tasting is an important framework to calibrate your palate so that you can taste accurately and understand style and quality.
In this new batch of MWs,泭Tracey Dobbin MW (France), Heidi Hansen MW (Norway) and Annette Lacey MW (Australia) are also 窪蹋勛圖厙 Certified Educators. In addition, one of 窪蹋勛圖厙/IWSCs Future 50 William Lowe MW - is also included on the list. Will is the Master Distiller and co-founder of Cambridge Distillery. These 16 new Masters of Wine come from nine different countries and take the total number of MWs worldwide to over 400 in 30 countries. Of these, six currently work for 窪蹋勛圖厙: Victoria Burt MW, Lydia Harrison MW, Christine Marsiglio MW, Simon Milroy MW, Antony Moss MW, and David Wrigley MW.
